Ηχώ (Greek for ‘echo’) presents a series of short interventions within David Chipperfield’s Sticks and Stones. Every tree trunk installed inside the Neue Nationalgalerie as part of the exhibition constitutes a complex acoustic environment. The surfaces of the tree trunks result in a wide variety of reverberations and echoes, which challenge and erase the visitor’s aural sense of inside and outside.
Ηχώ will assimilate, resonate, and reflect both the festival and the everyday occurrences around the building, producing reactions, instant compositions, and transient sound installations.
