We were better in the future is a work that displaces the rehearsal of the artist’s unfinished dance piece Ah! Oh! – A contemporary ritual¹ into the public space. During this piece, performers will occupy different areas of the Neue Nationalgalerie’s main hall, turning it into a practice space. The usually hidden and intimate elements of rehearsing a dance piece will be exposed, converting the museum into a creative and social labo- ratory. At the same time, the performance serves as a live archive of a process usually considered only once it has already occurred. Through the performance, the work’s past is linked to its future, right now!
¹ Ah! Oh! – A contemporary ritual will premiere on December 5, 2014, in HAU2, Berlin.
