#Teetontalk is a site-specific installation located in a hidden, open air space behind the Hamburger Bahnhof. It is accompanied by an ongoing 4-day performance during which water will be filtered, enriched and then served as tea to visitors.
What at first appears as a performance with a linear narrative and a center of gravity—the filter—becomes more complex as other elements become evident. Interactions within the space and during the tea-routines turn the filtering water and tea-making processes into a metabolism of the space.
The title plays on the alliteration ‘teatime talk’. It also references the use of acoustic elements, in German ‘Töne’, and clay, in German ‘Ton’, in the installation and performance. Moreover, the title is a humorous allusion to the often confusing polyglot communications of the international creative community in Berlin, who will certainly be engaged in talkative action during the Festival of Future Nows 2017 ∞.

Eine ortsspezifische Installation in einem geschützten Außenbereich hinter dem Museum wird während des Festivals im Rahmen einer interaktiven viertägigen Performance bespielt, die darin besteht, Leitungswasser zu filtern, anzureichern und den Besuchern als Tee zu servieren. Was zunächst nach einer Performance mit einem linearen Narrativ aussieht – Wasser wird gefiltert, gezapft, gekocht, durch einen Teesieb gegossen und schließlich getrunken –, wird in dem Maße komplexer, in dem verschiedene Gastkünstler*innen mit dem Raum interagieren und die Teeroutine immer wieder in den Hintergrund drängen. Sinnliche und kulturell aufgeladene Elemente wie Wasser, Erde, Steine, Teekräuter und Töne werden bewusst in ein Zusammenspiel gebracht, um einen Teeklatsch der anderen Art in Gang zu bringen.
Der Titel #TeeTonTalk bezieht sich einerseits auf die Alliteration „tea time talk“, andererseits auf den Einsatz von akustischen Elementen (Tönen) sowie von Bodensediment (Ton). Außerdem ist der Titel eine humorvolle Anspielung auf die häufig konfus polyglotten Gespräche innerhalb der durch Internationalität geprägten Berliner Kulturszene.
