Installation
Water drips into a bowl that is filled to the brim at a rate of one drop a second. The construction hovers in suspenseful equilibrium like a balancing act. Each drop causes the water to quiver, threatening to break the surface tension. Floods, melting glaciers, fires and war—it is 89 seconds to midnight on the “doomsday” clock. The world has never been closer to global catastrophe. The installation conjures the current ubiquitous feeling of suspense, the sense that each moment could see the last drop.
This work was created as part of artistic research at Muthesius Kunsthochschule in Kiel.

Installation
In eine bis zum Rand gefüllte Schale tropft Wasser im Sekundentakt. Einem Drahtseilakt gleich, schwebt sie in der Konstruktion. Jeder Tropfen bringt das Wasser in Bewegung, droht damit, die Oberflächenspannung zu brechen. Hochwasser, Gletscherschmelzen, Brände, Kriege: die „Doomsday“- Uhr steht auf 89 Sekunden vor Mitternacht. Damit ist die Welt einer globalen Katastrophe so nah wie nie zuvor. Die Installation stellt das aktuelle und allgegenwärtige Gefühl der Anspannung dar. Das Gefühl, dass der „Tropfen, der das Fass zum Überlaufen bringt“ jeden Moment eintreten könnte.
