Performance based on the original courtroom recordings from the 1982-84 trial of members of Autonomia Operaia
On April 7, 1979, a number of militants and intellectuals, including Antonio Negri and Paolo Virno, were arrested across Italy on charges of terrorism. The original trial took place between 1982 and 1984, before the Criminal Court of Rome. Rossella Biscotti edited material from the original recordings by Radio Radicale, a radio station run by Italy’s Radical Party.
Over the course of two day sessions, we will perform excerpts of Rossella Biscotti’s The Trial / Il Processo (2010 / 2017), which we staged, curated and researched throughout 2016 and 2017. In addition, through three different education models—lecture, workshop, and reading group—the curatorial team will present the historical context of Biscotti’s work, discuss the ideologies and philosophy related to the Autonomia movement, and interpret its contemporary relevance through critical theory and current socio-political topics.

Eine Performance, basierend auf den Originalaufnahmen aus dem Gerichtssaal, die zwischen 1982 und 1984 während des Prozesses gegen die Mitglieder der Autonomia Operaia entstanden sind.
Am 7. April 1979 wurden eine Gruppe von Militanten und Intellektuellen, darunter Antonio Negri und Paolo Virno, in Italien wegen Terrorismusverdachtes verhaftet. Die Verhandlung fand zwischen 1982 und 1984 vor dem Strafgericht in Rom statt. Rossella Biscotti bearbeitete Originalaufnahmen von Radio Radicale, einem Radiosender der Italienischen Radikalen Partei, die das Verfahren aufzeichnete.
Im Verlauf von zwei Tages-Sessions werden Auszüge von Rossella Biscottis The Trial / Il Processo (2010 / 2017) performt, die während der Jahre 2016 / 2017 von CuratorLab recherchiert, kuratiert und aufgeführt wurden. Darüber hinaus wird das Kuratorenteam mithilfe der Vermittlungsmodelle „Vortrag“, „Workshop“ und „Lesegruppe“ den historischen Kontext von Biscottis Arbeit darstellen, die Ideologien und die Philosophie diskutieren, denen sich die Autonomia-Bewegung verschrieben hatte, und ihre Relevanz für die heutige Zeit im Zusammenhang mit Fragestellungen der kritischen Theorie und aktueller soziopolitischer Themen diskutieren.
